GTA 6 PC Release is one of the biggest questions surrounding Rockstar Games’ upcoming blockbuster. While PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players have a confirmed launch date, PC players are still waiting for Rockstar to officially reveal whether and when the game will arrive on computers.
Rockstar currently lists November 19, 2026 as the release date for Grand Theft Auto VI, with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as the announced platforms. A PC version has not been officially announced.
That has not stopped rumors from pointing toward 2027.
GTA 6 PC Release Date: What Is Confirmed?
The most important point is simple: there is currently no official GTA 6 PC release date.
Rockstar’s official GTA 6 page lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while Take-Two’s latest announced lineup also lists GTA 6 for those two console platforms with a November 19, 2026 release date. PC is not included in the announced platform list.
This means any specific PC date circulating online should be treated as a rumor rather than confirmation.
For PC gamers, that is frustrating, especially because Rockstar has previously brought major games to PC after their console launches.
Why Is GTA 6 Not Coming to PC at Launch?
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has explained that Rockstar traditionally prioritizes consoles for major releases because the company wants to serve its core audience first.
Rockstar has already revealed plenty of details about the game through its official screenshots and trailers. For a closer look at the confirmed visuals, characters, and locations, check out our GTA 6 Screenshots: 7 Stunning Official Images Revealed before diving into the latest PC release rumors.
That approach means the absence of a PC version at launch should not automatically be interpreted as Rockstar abandoning PC players. Instead, it follows the company’s established release strategy.
Rockstar has also used delayed PC releases for previous major games.
GTA 5 launched on consoles in 2013 before eventually arriving on PC in 2015. Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a similar pattern, launching on consoles in 2018 before coming to PC in 2019.
Because of that history, many analysts and fans expect GTA 6 to eventually reach PC.
Is GTA 6 Coming to PC in 2027?
This is where things get interesting.
2027 is currently one of the biggest rumored windows for the GTA 6 PC release. Some reports and speculation point toward a PC launch roughly one year after the console release.
However, there is an important difference between a reasonable prediction and an official release date.
A recent PC Gamer analysis suggests that a GTA 6 PC launch is unlikely before late 2027 based on Rockstar’s previous console-to-PC release gaps.
If GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, a late-2027 PC release would fit Rockstar’s historical pattern much better than an immediate PC launch.
Could GTA 6 PC Release Happen Earlier?
Technically, yes.
There is no official statement saying that PC players must wait until late 2027. Rockstar could announce a PC version at any time.
However, rumors suggesting an early-2027 release should be taken carefully.
A PC version arriving only a few months after the console launch would represent a much shorter gap than some of Rockstar’s previous major releases. That doesn’t make it impossible, but there is currently no official evidence confirming such a schedule.
The safest expectation is therefore 2027 or later, rather than treating a specific month as confirmed.
What About a 2028 GTA 6 PC Release?
There is also a possibility that PC players could wait until 2028.
Rockstar could choose to spend additional time optimizing GTA 6 for different PC hardware configurations. Unlike consoles, PCs have thousands of combinations of processors, graphics cards, memory configurations and operating systems.
A PC version could also arrive alongside a major GTA Online update or another enhanced version of the game.
PC Gamer has even discussed the possibility that changing console generations and Rockstar’s future plans could push the PC version beyond 2027.
That makes 2028 possible, although it is not confirmed either.
What Should PC Players Expect?
If Rockstar follows its traditional strategy, PC players could eventually receive a version with additional graphical options and features designed specifically for powerful hardware.
PC gamers could potentially get higher resolutions, advanced graphics settings, improved draw distances, unlocked frame rates and mod support depending on Rockstar’s final plans.
But none of these features should be treated as confirmed until Rockstar officially reveals the PC edition.
For now, the biggest confirmed GTA 6 news remains the console release.
Final Verdict on the GTA 6 PC Release
The GTA 6 PC release is not officially dated yet, but a PC version remains highly expected based on Rockstar’s history.
The console versions are scheduled for November 19, 2026, while PC has not been announced.
So, is 2027 finally happening?
It is a realistic prediction, but not an official date.
For now, PC players should treat late 2027 as a possible release window, while keeping 2028 in mind as another possibility. The moment Rockstar officially announces a PC version, that will replace all current rumors.
Until then, the safest answer is simple: GTA 6 is coming to consoles in November 2026, but the PC release remains officially unknown.
